Saturday
the 29th of October 2005
The
Royal couple from Belgium, which was in the neighbourhood as
guest by the nephews of Her Majesty the Queen,
has asked
to visit
the property of the Barons Aimaro and Consolata Oreglia d’Isola,
and (with only twenty minutes’ notice to the housemasters!
) a few minutes after 4 p. m. , They arrived in Bagnolo in
their royal Mercedes, preceded and followed from the body guards’ cars
and from a little group of friends and family members.
First stop by the ancient water joinery, the “Ressia”,
where Hilario Isola with Matteo Norzi create their sculptures (particularly
appreciated from His Majesty the King); after a walk in the park
to enjoy the autumn colours and to see the frescos in the underground
Chapel of Saint Sebastian, Their Majesties asked to go on visiting
and to see the Castle. |

Con
mercedes e tutto il seguito, ed un ultimo tratto di salita percorsa
a piedi

On
visit by the farmhouses.

A last way uphill on feet to reach the court
and to wander around inside the castle walls and in to the fortress:
a stop in
the”Sala dello Stemma”, where they had some country
refreshments: with simplicity They enjoyed to taste some local
mountain cheese, backed bread and wine from the Malingry property.
Many questions and lively interest for the history and the architecture,
but also for tales and curiosities about the place and the family.
His Majesty the King Albert, who speaks an excellent Italian, was
really of sovereign and human kindness!
Not yet tired: Her Majesty the Queen Paola has asked to see the farm
Brucé, which lays right under the castle walls and belong
to the Agriturismo “Le Cascine del Castello di Bagnolo”.
She visited every flat and every single room, making enjoyed and
flattering comments: “Trés chic” she defined the
style of the furniture and the restoration!
A great honour, a pleasant surprise and a precious memory to keep
with us! |
